Every Atrium Health hospital in Georgia now holds official recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, marking a major milestone for nursing excellence across the health system.
The achievement follows recent Pathway to Excellence and Magnet designations earned by Atrium Health facilities across Georgia.
In northwest Georgia, Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center and regional facilities, including Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center, have earned the ANCC Pathway to Excellence designation with distinction. The recognition also extends to associated behavioral health and emergency care locations within the region.
The Pathway to Excellence program recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate a positive professional practice environment where nurses are empowered and supported in providing quality patient care.
Elsewhere in Georgia, Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center has earned Magnet recognition multiple consecutive times. Magnet Recognition is considered one of the highest distinctions available to health care organizations for nursing excellence and professional nursing practice.
Atrium Health Navicent Peach and Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin have also achieved Pathway to Excellence recognition.
Together, the designations mean Atrium Health’s hospitals throughout Georgia are now recognized by the ANCC for meeting national standards associated with nursing practice and workplace environments.
For patients, the recognition represents more than an award displayed on a hospital wall. Both programs evaluate areas connected to nursing leadership, professional development, workplace culture and the environment in which nurses provide patient care.
The accomplishment is particularly significant locally, with Atrium Health Floyd serving patients throughout northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama.
