For over 140 years, American service members, veterans, their families, and caregivers have relied on the American Red Cross for support during military service challenges. Red Cross programs, led by staff and volunteers, many of whom have military ties, address the humanitarian needs of the military community.

In May, during Military Appreciation Month, the Red Cross honors these sacrifices and the dedicated individuals who support them. In Georgia, the Red Cross has already assisted nearly 9,000 military and veteran families in fiscal year 2024.

The Red Cross provides continuous care throughout a service member’s journey. Its Hero Care Network offers free and confidential help any time, including emergency communication and financial assistance. The Red Cross is present at many military sites, offering in-person support and various wellness programs. This month, they encourage everyone to get involved by visiting redcross.org for volunteer and career opportunities.
