Chattooga County students are invited to gear up for the upcoming academic year at the annual Back to School Bash, hosted by the Community Resource Center (CRC) of Chattooga County. The event is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, July 17th, at Chattooga High School, running from 4 PM to 6 PM.
This event is open to all students across Chattooga County, encompassing participants from both the county school system and the Trion City School system. Its primary goal is to ensure every child has the necessary school supplies for a successful 2025-2026 school year.
Maisha Ludy, a representative with the CRC of Chattooga, announced several key changes implemented this year to enhance efficiency and improve the experience for families.
“We’ve made some exciting adjustments to make the process smoother,” Ludy stated. “This year, each supply item will have its own dedicated table, making it easier for students to find exactly what they need.”
Upon arrival, families will first visit a registration table at the entrance. Each child will receive a personalized supply checklist at registration, which will guide them directly to the specific tables they need to visit. This ensures students only pick up the items required for their grade level and individual needs.
Additionally, Ludy highlighted a significant flexibility for attendees: “Students are not required to get a backpack this year. If they only need supplies, that’s completely fine! We want to cater to what each family truly needs.”
Given the popularity of the event, Ludy advised families to prepare for early crowds. “Families begin lining up early,” she noted. To ensure a prompt and organized start, volunteers assisting with the event are requested to be at Chattooga High School no later than 2:30 PM.
The annual Back to School Bash receives vital support each year from a wide array of local businesses, industries, churches, and individuals. Their collaborative efforts underscore a strong community commitment to providing all Chattooga County schoolchildren with the resources for a prosperous academic year.
