The pig show is an opportunity for the public to support agricultural students in the county.  FFA students received their pigs earlier this year and have cared for and raised the pigs and will be showing them tonight.  After the show, the pigs will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Chattooga County Young Farmer Director Lauren Jarrett is encouraging the community to come out and support the pig show and auction this evening. Students participating in the project this year are:  Lane Bridges, Cody Corbin, Lillie Dooley, Natalie Edwards, Callen Kerce, Tanner Nutter, Tate Whitlock and Joshua Willingham.

Bidding will start at $1 per pound and the pigs will be transported by the Young Farmers for processing. The processing costs will be the responsibility of the buyer.

The Young Farmers chapter has also been selling chances on a hog and processing. Tickets are $5 each and the winner will be drawn at the show.
