Several residents were rescued from a campground off of County Road 450 on Spring Creek in Cherokee County, Alabama Tuesday.

That rescue mission was conducted by members of the Spring Creek Fire Department, and by the Cherokee County Rescue Squad after water had overtaken the campground.

The Cherokee County EMA is urging all the residents who live in flood prone areas to find a safe place to stay if you have not already done so until the lake level recedes.
