Strong storms moved through the area on Tuesday night and the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia says we could see another round of severe weather tonight.

Downed trees, strong winds and heavy rain impacted Northwest Georgia on Tuesday night around 10 PM.  A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Chattooga, Walker and Floyd Counties.  There was also a brief tornado warning issued for Northwestern Chattooga County and Southern Walker County due to heavy rotation in storms that were passing through.  However, no confirmed tornadoes were reported.

Several power outages were reported overnight, with some still without power on Wednesday morning.  North Georgia EMC was reporting power outages in the Longhollow Road area of Northwestern Chattooga County and one power outage on Silver Hill Road.  More power outages were reported in the Center Post Community in Walker County.  Georgia Power says that five homes were without power in the Pennville area on Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service says that we should pay attention to the weather again tonight as there is potential for more severe storms that could produce heavy downpours, wind, lightning and possible hail.  The best chance for severe weather will be after midnight tonight and into Thursday morning.
