Gadsden State Community College has a campus in Centre, Alabama in neighboring Cherokee County and each year there are several students from Chattooga and other Georgia counties that enroll. The college has announced that it is extending the deadline for proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
The deadline for submitting proof of receiving the COVID-19 vaccination has been moved to Nov. 1. Students who provide proof of vaccination will receive up to $500 in required books and tools for the spring semester.
“We want to make sure our students and employees have ample opportunity to become fully vaccinated and take advantage of Gadsden State’s vaccination incentives,” said Dr. Kathy Murphy, president.
In addition to the extended deadline, Gadsden State is also increasing the amounts of vouchers awarded to employees who are fully vaccinated. Full-time employees will receive a $100 voucher to either the Gadsden State Cafeteria on the Wallace Drive Campus or the bookstores on the East Broad and Ayers campuses. Vouchers for part-time employees increased to $50.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card can be submitted through myGadsdenState for those wanting to take advantage of the incentive program. Transient and dual-enrolled students do not qualify for the program. Incoming students also do not qualify.
