
Word came on Monday morning that Floyd Medical Center and Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome are reporting a combined total of 58 hospitalizations for COVID-19. That was up from 46 on Friday of last week.
The highest spike in hospitalizations for COVID-19 at the two area hospitals was on July 31st when 66 COVID-19 positive patients were reported. Yesterday’s announcement was the first time since August 15th the two medical facilities has seen 58 COVID-19 patients.
Eight of the new cases over the weekend were at Floyd Medical Center and four were at Redmond.
So far this year, 65 Chattooga County residents have been hospitalized with COVID-19.
