Funeral services are scheduled for tomorrow for Elijah Andrew Espy, the 15-year-old Armuchee High School student who was tragically killed last week following a devastating two-vehicle collision in Chattooga County.

Espy, a member of Subligna Baptist Church and a student at Armuchee High, died from injuries sustained after his dirt bike collided with a vehicle last Thursday afternoon.

The fatal incident occurred on Dry Creek Road, according to details released by the Georgia State Troopers (GSP). The investigation revealed that the teenager was operating a red Honda XR400 motorcycle and traveling northbound when the accident occurred.

Simultaneously, a black Tesla S was proceeding southbound. Troopers reported that as the Tesla approached a driveway, the driver slowed down and initiated a left turn. This maneuver led to the northbound motorcycle striking the right passenger door of the Tesla.

The impact was severe, resulting in the young motorcyclist being ejected from his bike and landing on the west shoulder of Dry Creek Road. Tragically, Elijah Espy sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The sudden loss has sent shock waves through the Armuchee and Chattooga County communities. Elijah was the son of Mr. Kevin Espy and Ms. Lorrie Costlow Espy.

Funeral services for Elijah Andrew Espy will be held on Tuesday at 6 PM at the Henderson and Sons Funeral Home North Chapel in Armuchee. The ceremony will be officiated by Dr. Charles Bishop, the pastor of Subligna Baptist Church. Community members and friends are expected to gather to offer their final respects to the teen and support his grieving family.
