A sixteen year old Armuchee High School student died in a car accident on Friday afternoon in Armuchee.  Paramedics responded to the scene around 4:10 PM on Friday afternoon to find an accident involving three vehicles with two injuries and one fatality.

Reports indicated that a truck travelling in the northbound lanes crashed into a car driving in the southbound lane.  The third truck was struck as a result of the initial crash.  Floyd County Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor identified the teen as Thomas Allen Goodson, Jr.

Armuchee school officials confirmed to local media that the student was an athlete at Armuchee High School
