An Armuchee man was jailed after police say he damaged the car of a man who hit his car in an accident and then fled the scene, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports and Floyd County Jail records:

Rusty Byron Boozer, 31, of 2811 Everett Springs Road is charged with fel-ony second-degree criminal damage to property and misdemeanor public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred after an accident with injuries at the intersection of Garden Lakes Boulevard a Shoreline Drive on Sunday morning.

Devin Lashawn Watts, 26, of 308 A Myrtle Street was cited for failing to yield to a stop sign, driving on a suspended license, expired tags and probation.

Reports stated Watts failed to yield at a stop sign and struck the car Boozer was in. Watts then fled the scene. Police arrived and Boozer told police they better catch Watts or “I’m gonna kill them.”

The driver of the car Erika Danielle Boozer was injured and taken to Floyd Medical Center for treatment.

Police found Watts later at 16 Conasauga Plaza and placed him in arrest. Boozer, who also found Watts, kicked in the front quarter panel of the 1988 Chevy Cutlass that Watts was driving.

Both men remained in jail as of Sunday morning.
