An Armuchee woman was arrested on Wednesday on charges associated with the theft of checks from a 75 year old Alzheimer’s, or dementia victim. 53 year old Donna Eason Baker of a Selman Road address was charged in warrants with the Exploitation of an Elderly Person, Forgery in the 1st Degree, and Theft by Deception. She is also being detained for state probation personnel. The warrants claim that Baker stole checks from her victim back in early November and then penned more than 20 of them to shops around Rome through the 5th of January. She supposedly obtained more than $3,000 worth of cash, goods and services as a result of the scam.
