Chattooga County Sheriff Ralph Kellett told AM 1180 Radio News yesterday evening, that an arrest has been made in a bomb threat incident that happened Friday morning during Superior Court.  A telephone call was made to the sheriff’s office stating there was a bomb in the courthouse.

Carrie Michelle Weeks, age 18 of Rains Circle in Summerville, was arrested Friday afternoon by investigator Eddie Strop of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s office.  Ms. Weeks was charged with transmitting a false bomb threat, terroristic threats and acts and use of a communication facility to commit a crime, all felonies.  Bond has been set for Weeks at $300,000 cash.

Sheriff Kellett told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio News that he expects another person to be charged after further investigation. 

The Courthouse was evacuated at approximately 10 AM Friday morning without incident.  A search was conducted by numerous county and City of Summerville law enforcement along with the Summerville Fire Department and Hays Correctional Fire Department.  The GBI assisted in the search as well.  Nothing was found at the court house, which remained closed until 1 PM when it was re-opened and court resumed.
