Acting on information called in by citizens in the area, Floyd County Police located a vehicle used in at least eleven vehicle break-ins in the Ridgewood subdivision on Tuesday.

Police have arrested one female and one juvenile as a result.

Floyd E9-1-1 received a call of a Black SUV, occupied by two females who were dumping items in trash cans at Midway Park. This call was occurring at the same time police were being called to three different homes in the Ridgewood subdivision for reports of vehicles being broken into.

The citizens who observed the suspects at Midway Park got a detailed description of their vehicle and a license plate number, which was given to all local law enforcement agencies.

The vehicle was later observed by police on Chateau Drive along with two females, 23 year old Annamarie Tant of 210 Cole Street and her accomplice, a 15 year old female, who were both taken into custody.

Both females were charged with eleven counts of Entering an Automobile to commit a theft, and Tant was additionally charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Several items were recovered and returned to the proper owners. The vehicle was taken to the Floyd County Police Station for execution of a search warrant, during which several additional items were recovered.

Police are in contact with the victims and returning property to the rightful owners.

Police are also asking that all homeowners lock their vehicles after they park them at night.
