The Chattooga County Library will be hosting Astronomy for Everyone: Size and Scale of the Universe on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. Award-winning astrophysicist and national lecture, Kevin Manning will conduct us on an educational and entertaining exploration of the universe, stars, and other celestial wonders.

For 1 ½ hours you can escape this world and get a refreshing and bigger perspective by looking up to the stars. Following the formal indoor presentation, you can go outdoors to view celestial objects in the night sky through a powerful, hand-crafted telescope if the weather permits. View wonders such as the rings of Saturn and the craters of the Moon. Kevin Manning, a former consultant with NASA, expertly guides young and old in this exciting tour of night sky.

The program is free to all. Due to the length of the program, this family program is recommended for ages 10 and up or with high interest in astronomy. Please contact the library at 706-857-2553 with any questions.
