Update on road conditions: Icy conditions are being reported in some areas this morning.

Earlier Taylor’s Ridge was in good shape

Highway 48 at Cloudland was beginning to ice over.

Highway 157 at Cloudland is icy.

Peach Orchard Road is getting icy.

Martin Street in Summerville is icy.

Back Penn Road is icy.

Trion Police Chief Jason Kellett says that Allgood Street and First Street are icy.

Shattuck Industrial in Lafayette is being reported as icy at this time.

GDOT along with Chattooga Public Works, Trion and Summerville Municipal Public Works are working to keep roads treated.

The Chattooga County Health Department will be closed on Monday due to the possibility of winter weather.

Trion City Schools will be closed for students on Monday due to the possibility of inclement weather.  Staff should report at 10 AM.

Due to the possibility of inclement road conditions on Monday morning, the Trion Town Hall will open at 10 AM.

Due to the possibility of hazardous road conditions from freezing rain on Monday morning, Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters says that all Chattooga County governmental offices will be operating on a 2 hour delay for Monday, January 8, 2018.

The City of Summerville will be closing East Washington Street today atnoon from Highway 27 to Economy Street, until tomorrow morning.  Business’s in the area will be accessible, but there will be no thru traffic. The road closure is due to the Christmas Parade.  All on Georgia will be live-streaming the parade this evening and will be set up in the area.
