An 18 wheeler struck a power pole causing a power outage for the residents along a stretch of Highway 114 in Chattooga County Tuesday night.
According to the Summerville Police Department, the mishap occurred at 8:12pm when the truck driver, identified as Josh Morton of a Hampton, Georgia address reportedly misjudged a turn and struck the pole.
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the mishap.
Chattooga County Public Works Director Joe Reed announces that both lanes are now open across the Chattooga River on Taliaferro Springs Road.
The bridge had been closed for a short period of time to undergo repairs.
Temporary repairs have been made to the small sink hole that appeared on Hair Lake Road and there are currently no travel problems in that area. Reed did say some additional work will be done there in the near future.
