LaFayette Armed Robbery Poss Connection to Summerville

SHERIFF SCHRADER LOOKING INTO LAFAYETTE ARMED ROBBERY POSSIBLE CONNECTION

Investigators with the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office and Summerville Police Dept have spoken with Walker County authorities regarding an armed robbery that occurred this afternoon at a store on the south end of thier County. We are gathering and sharing information with them to see if they may be dealing with the same suspects that we are.     (Summerville News)

 

 

Mr. Merdie Henry Reeves obit (M)

Mr. Merdie Henry Reeves, age 89, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday January 29, 2016. 

Mr. Reeves was born October 15, 1926, in Ft. Payne, AL, the son of the late Cleveland and Sarah Combs Reeves.  He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills as a member of the quarter century club, and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where he served as treasurer, choir director, and deacon. He was preceded in death by his siblings AD, Charles, and Jay Reeves, Bobby Rosich, and Josie Kellett. 

Survivors include his loving wife of over 71 years Juanita Rogers Reeves, daughter; Betty Jean Talley, sisters; Mae Smith and Frances Peeper, grandchildren; Jeff DeBerry, Kelly Ray, April & Tracy Trammell, Lisa & Wayne Crowe, great grandchildren; Tyler DeBerry, Chance DeBerry, Justin & Krista Crowe, Haley Lloyd, Colt Trammell, great great grandchildren; Tucker, TJ, & Neiko Crowe. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday February 1, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Patterson and Rev. Jason Cowart officiating with interment in the West Hill Cemetery. 

Mr. Reeves will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.  Mason Funeral Home is directing.
