A fire at the Bay Springs Campground in Cherokee County, Alabama destroyed three campers Sunday morning.
9-1-1 received the call at around 7:45 reporting the blaze; Leesburg, Sand Rock and Centre Firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
Leesburg Fire Chief Joe Sonaty said that when his department arrived on the scene one of the campers was already on the ground and the fire had quickly spread to two others.
There were a total of four propane bottles between two of the campers that burst during the fire, fortunately there were no injuries as there was no one inside any of the campers at the time the fire started.
Cherokee Electric Co-Op Crews also responded to shut off power to the campground while firefighters worked to put out hot spots and cleanup.
It is not known at this time exactly what may caused the initial fire to start; the incident is currently under investigation.

A Rome woman was in jail Saturday after Rome police arrested her for stealing at Becky’s Discount Shoes.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 41 year old Michera Lee Minter, has been charged with felony second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft by taking after she entered an employee-only room in the store located at 2523 Redmond Circle and allegedly took the victim’s pocketbook.
She was being held without bond Saturday night.

A man told police his attempt at being a Good Samaritan went bad Saturday and he wound up being robbed.
The victim said a bald, black man, approximately 6 feet tall, snatched $100 from him after the robber said he had car trouble behind the Harbin Clinic on Saturday afternoon.
According to the report the suspect was last seen running toward Shorter Avenue.
The investigation into the matter is on-going.

Since the first community cleanups in 2000, Alabama Power employees and community volunteers have made a remarkable impact in protecting waterways in their communities through Renew Our Rivers.
With humble beginnings at the generating plants and lakes managed by Alabama Power, thousands of volunteers have spread the program up rivers and tributaries, creating more than 30 cleanups to remove trash across the state’s watersheds.
Through programs like Renew Our Rivers, Alabama Power is a partner in promoting conservation stewardship in communities across the state.
For more than a decade, the company has helped create and distribute more than 50,000 Message in the Bottle coloring books focused on conservation and litter prevention to schools across the state.
The Alabama Power Foundation is also making its mark on protecting our state’s resources with the launch of “Students to Stewards,” a program designed to encourage conservation education.
Through a competitive application process, the program will provide support for dynamic projects and lesson plans that teach the next generation about our state’s unique ecosystems – encouraging students to become better stewards of our natural resources.
Mrs. Elaine Barkley, age 57, of Trion, GA, passed away Saturday December 12, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. Barkley was born July 6, 1958, in Lafayette, GA, the daughter of the late Jim Andrew and Elizabeth Elaine Morgan Odum. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randy J. Barkley, and a brother, Tracy Odum.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Chrissy and Jeremy Campbell; son, Kevin Barkley, brothers, Jim Odum, Tommy and Angie Odum; sister, Diane Odum White; and a grandson, Cain Campbell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barkley will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Malcom Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Lafayette City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Gentry, David Parris, Carl Gentry, Cain Campbell, Jeff Edge, and Thomas Maddux. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Campbell and Ronnie Thompson.
Mrs. Barkley will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 14, 2015.
Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Elaine Barkley who died on Saturday.
Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg Fire Departments were dispatched to the Cherokee County Administration Building on Friday afternoon after a Sheriff’s Deputy drove by and reported seeing heavy smoke coming from the building.
The fire alarm inside the building did go off and everyone was safely evacuated, it appears at this time that the fire may have been caused as the result of a malfunction with one of the heating/air units in the probate offices.
No one was injured and there was very little or no damage to the building. Centre Police and Cherokee Electric Crews also responded to the scene
