It’s that time of the year again where the 4-H students turn in drink pop-tabs to help Chattooga County 4-H assist in raising money for the Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House Charity allows parents and families of children who have to be hospitalized due to injury or illness in Atlanta the chance to stay at the home for minimal to no cost. This relieves the family of many financial burdens and allows them to focus on the most important aspect, loving and spending time with their child. Many wonderful people in Chattooga County have been helped or know someone who has been helped by the Ronald McDonald House Charity. So, in return, the Chattooga 4-H is asking for a small favor and gesture. If you save those pop-tabs in your pantry, the top of your refrigerator, or just in a bucket in the garage, please drop them off by the Extension/4-H Office so they can help families.
On November 14th, a group of 7th and 8th grade 4-H students will travel to Rock Eagle 4-H Center for Junior Conference. At this event the pop tabs will be turned in with every other county in the state and presented to a representative from the Ronald McDonald House with a check equal to the amount of pounds attained. Last year Chattooga County 4-H collected over 400 pounds of pop-tabs and expect the number to double this year.

Every little bit counts and Chattooga County does an amazing job of letting it’s residents know that no matter how cloudy the day, there’s always a friendly hand to help or smile to cheer you up at the end of it.
