A Trion man has been charged with aggravated sodomy, rape, battery and false imprisonment after allegedly raping and beating, a woman over the weekend and confining her to a bedroom in her home for two days without food or water.

Steven James Mauldin, of a Laurel Drive, Trion address, is accused of raping the 30-year-old woman, beating and putting her in a choke hold, in addition to breaking a glass coffee mug over her head. 30-year-old Mauldin reportedly confined her to a bedroom in her home for two days, with no food or water, only allowing her out to go to the bathroom. After two days, the woman was able to escape and called her father.

 The woman's eyes reportedly were black and swollen and she had several visible injuries around her facial area, including a broken nose, as well as a head injury. She also told officers she had been sexually assaulted. She was transported to Erlanger at Hutcheson Medical Center. 

Lafayette Police are alerting local businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit 10 dollar bills. Two suspects are being sought for passing four bogus bills at the CVS in Lafayette. Anyone with information or those that passed it, may contact the Lafayette Police Department.

A man wanted for a parole violation was captured by the Hays Canine Unit on the bank of the Chattooga River just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Officers with the City of Summerville, Chattooga Sheriff's Department, as well as the Hays State Prison Canine Unit chased Jason Stricklin for about an hour in the woods off Bellah  Avenue, according to Sheriff Mark Schrader.

Jason Stricklin reportedly drove past two city officers earlier in the day, who recognized him.  Stricklin is reported to have parked the car in the area of Bellah Avenue and took off into the woods. 

Stricklin was wanted on a felony parole violation and had led Georgia State Troopers on a foot chase off Mahan Road just a couple of weeks ago, according to Schrader, He has already been charged with fleeing and attempting to elude by the State Patrol.  More charges are expected by the Summerville Police Department after today's chase.  

A Menlo man has been charged with misdemeanor homicide by vehicle.

According to Chattooga Sheriff Mark Schrader Jason Dewayne Green was arrested on a warrant taken out by the Georgia State Patrol. He said the arrest stems from an accident that occurred in August 2012.

No further details were immediately available since we spoke to Schrader while he and other officers were chasing a suspect through the woods just off Bellah Avenue in Summerville. AM1180 will have more information when it becomes available. 

Officers with the City of Summerville, Chattooga Sheriff's Department, as well as the Hays State Prison Canine Unite are chasing an alleged parole violator in the woods off Bellah Avenue, in Summerville. Officers have a warrant for his arrest. We spoke to Sheriff Mark Shrader at 6:15 tonight.

According to Sheriff Schrader, Jason Stricklin drove past two city officers earlier in the day, who recognized him.  Stricklin is reported to have parked the car in the area of Bellah Avenue and took to the woods.
