Purchase of Sudafed leads to Meth Arrest

A woman reportedly making several purchases of Sudafed at local pharmacies recently allerted local authorities to possible drug activity.

According to Trey Skelton with the Chattooga County Narcotics Unit, got a warrant to search  the Greeson Street, Summerville, residence of Gayla Marie Parish, after the was reported to have bought a good amount of the over the counter medicine commonly used to make methamphetamine.

Upon searching the residence early monday morning, officers found a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue stashed in an ottomon; 5 small bags of suspected methamphetamine; and four syringes.

During the time of the visit by police, Parish also had house guests: Anthony Ray Green of a Alabama Avenue, Cloudland, address; and Richard Arlen Humphrey Jr., of a Starling Mills Road, Lyerly, Address.

They were all charged with possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug related objects. Parish was additionally charged with Possession of a substance  with intent to manufacture methamphetanine (ephedrine).  

Meth Arrest At Carousel Inn

A Summerville Couple is suspected of renting a room at the Carousel Inn, Trion, out of which to deal drugs.

According to officer Trey Skelton with the Chattooga County Narcotics Unit,  officers received a tip that methamphetamine was being sold from the motel room. After receiving that information the drug task force had the couple and the motel room under surveillance for several weeks.

Officers knocked on the door early Saturday morning and got consent to search. They found two small plastic bags of methamphetamine; 42 blue pills thought to be Clonazepan; 1 1/2 suspected marijuana cigarettes; and a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine residue.

Arrested were Joshua Lee Sword and Angela Renea Jackson, both of a Sixth Street, Trion Address. They were both charged with possession of a schedule IV drug; possession of a schedule IV drug with intent to distribute; possession of less than one ounce of marijuana; possession of drug related objects; and possession of methamphetamine. 

Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

A traffic stop on Maple Drive Friday night led to the arrest of three Summerville Reaidents.

According to officers with the Chattooga County Narcotics Unit, a vehicle was stopped after the officer observed the driver was unable to maintain a single lane.

After getting consent to search the vehicle, officers found the driver to be under the influence, and a meth pipe in the glove compartment containing suspected methamphetamine residue.

Arrested were Corey Sam Money of a Saratoga Way, Summerville address; Tommy Wayne Miller of a Milton Circle, Summerville address; and Shannon Ray Roach of a Stinnit Rd, Summerville address.

They were all charged with possession of methamphetamine; and possession of drug related objects, with Miller, the driver of the vehicle, additionally charged with DUI/ alcohol.

Car Seat Safety Checks Tuesday

The Georgia State Patrol will host car seat safety checks Tuesday, July 31, from 9am to noon at the Chattooga County Health Department

Representatives from the state patrol will check expiration dates and make sure seats are installed properly. Anyone with questions concerning car safety seats should come by and talk to the experts.

 

New Hours At Trion Pool

Effective Friday, August 3rd the Trion swimming pool hours will be 3 p.m. –6p.m. Monday thru Friday. Saturday hours will remain 12:30p.m.—4:30p.m. The pool will close for the summer season Saturday, August 11 at 4:30 pm.
