The state has unveiled its new website featuring access to 115 state agencies.
Gov. Nathan Deal said Friday that http://georgia.gov is the no. 1 way that Georgians interact with state government. It includes an easier to use search function and a blog that highlights noteworthy happenings in state government.
The website draws an average of 1.2 million page views each month. It is the first state portal in the country to be powered by Drupal, a content management system that runs the White House and U.S. House of Representatives websites.
Deal said the state will save $4.6 million a year by moving to the new system.

Grammy-winning folk musician Doc Watson is in critical but improving condition at a North Carolina hospital after undergoing colon surgery.
Folklore Productions represents Watson and says he had the surgery Thursday night at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. A hospital spokeswoman said he remained in critical condition Friday morning.
Watson's daughter, Nancy, told The Associated Press that the 89-year-old Watson fell Monday.
The blind singer and guitarist has won several Grammys, including a lifetime achievement award. He also received the National Medal of the Arts.
He's known as a master of the flatpicking style of guitar playing, He also started Merlefest, an annual gathering of musicians in Wilkesboro named after his son, who died in a tractor accident in 1985.
The man accused of killing his 27-year-old wife and her grandfather is still at large and considered dangerous, said Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood during a news conference Friday.
Chitwood called it a horrific crime of passion. There was no new information to released about the investigation into the deaths of Jessica Neal and Donald Shedd. Chitwood said the press conference was mainly wish to stress the urgency of locating suspect Adolph Ray ‘Sonny' Neal."
Sonny Neal is the husband of Jessica Neal.

Police have confirmed that the remains of a Calhoun man were found in Cobb County.
According to Lt. Tony Pyle, with the Calhoun Police Department it has been confirmed through the Cobb County Police that the remains found near I-75 in Cobb County are that of Norris Milton Dove age 51 of 218 Forrest Ave Calhoun.
Dove was reported missing on Aug. 11, 2009 by family members, and has not been seen or heard from since that date. According to family members, Dove had a history of leaving home for extended periods and saying with different family members and friends across the state.

Kris Kristofferson is most notably known for his success as a country songwriter in the early 1970s. His numerous hit songs such as “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” and “For The Good Times” were all chart toppers. His personal and serious songwriting helped redefine country music, much the way Bob Dylan did in the mid 1960s. By the late 1980s it was estimated that nearly 450 artists had recorded Kristofferson’s work.
Kris has continued to tour extensively and released his latest album ‘Closer to the Bone’ in 2009. Like the master singer-songwriter’s 2006 album ‘This Old Road,’ ‘Closer to the Bone’ was produced by Grammy Award winner Don Was. Much like its predecessor, ‘Closer to the Bone’ is a deftly observed, honestly executed work about love, separation, loss, and mortality. The subject matter ranges from the musician’s family “From Here to Forever,” “The Wonder” to Kristofferson’s late friend Johnny Cash “Good Morning John.” Was views the new album as a sort of sequel to its much-acclaimed predecessor: “The recording conditions were a little more controlled, but it’s based around Kris singing and playing guitar, and nothing was to get in the way of that. If anything got in the way of it, we pulled it out. I think the two albums are completely of a piece. I love This Old Road. There’s something really immediate about it, and really profound. I personally think this is a better record, overall. It’s the songs.”
The Lyerly Town Council Thursday night awarded a bid for work at it's wastewater lagoon.
The board unanimously approved a bid for $126.025 from Rehab Construction of Conyers, the same firm doing work at Summerville's filter plant. The work will consist of adding an aerator to one pond; baffle curtains; and baffles to the stabilization pond. Mayor Josh Wyatt said this will give a better mixture with more oxygen and get the dissolved oxygen levels up in the summertime. The town's wastewater treatment facility has been in non-compliance in the past, netting small finess. Wyatt says he expects the work to begin in about 30 days.
The Chattooga County Republican Party has qualified another candidate for political office this morning. Jamey Dawson qaulified this morning for sheriff on the Republican ticket. Dawson told AM 1180 that he made the decision to run because it has been a life-long desire of his to serve as sheriff in Chattooga County. He said that there are several things that he would like to see changed about the sheriff's department, including the way patrol zones are conducted. Dawson said that he was open-minded about the drug task force issue and that if elected he would take a closer look at keeping things as they are or re-joining the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force. Dawson said he was running as a Republican because the GOP has gained in strength in Georgia over the past several years and the party most closely represents his personal beliefs. Dawson served as a deputy in the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department for 10 years. He is the owner of Triple J Logging.
The Georgia Poison Center is warning parents to be on guard after young children have eaten laundry detergent "pods."
Authorities say the small pods are packaged in bright colors, which has led some children to mistake them for candy.
One Child reportedly at some of the concentrated detergent on Wednesday after it fell from a shelf and began throwing up. Her mother called the Georgia Poison Center and was told the detergent can cause the throat, tongue and lips to swell, threatening a child's breathing.
Dr. Gaylord Lopez of the Georgia Poison Control Center says they've received several emergency calls related to the products in recent months
