All Georgia Department of Public Health Northwest Health District offices, including the district office in Rome and all ten county health departments, will be closed today, Tuesday, February 16, and will open tomorrow. Wednesday, February 17, at regular operating hours.
Due to the hazardous road conditions caused by black ice on many of the communities back roads, Trion City Schools will be closed on Feb. 16, 2021.
Both the Trion and Chattooga Region basketball games, scheduled for today, has been postponed until Wednesday.
Georgia gas prices increased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $2.33 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 5 cents more than a week ago, 12 cents more than last month, and 6 cents more than this time last year.

Chattooga County School System- Schools will be doing all virtual learning today.
Trion City Schools-Will operate on a 2 hour delay. Students and staff are to report at 10 a.m. A further decision will be made at 8 a.m. if needed.***UPDATE—Trion City Schools have know closed due to road conditions***
Chattooga County Government buildings-Will delay opening until 10 a.m.
Chattooga County Library-Delayed opening until 10 a.m.
Chattooga County Health Department-Delayed opening until 10 a.m.***UPDATED– All NW Georgia Health Departments will be closed today and all COVID vaccines scheduled for today will be rescheduled***
Redmond Family Care-Delayed opening until 10 a.m.
City of Summerville -all offices will delay opening until 10 a.m.
Rome City Schools-Will remain on a virtual learning day for both students and staff.
Floyd County Schools-Closed
Walker County Schools are already out on Winter Break and are scheduled to return to school on Wednesday, February 17th.
Dr. Miniyars office will delay opening until 10 a.m.

After a man dressed as the Lone Ranger made a speech at a recent Walker County Board of Commissioners meeting, in which racial slurs were used and broadcast live, the Commissioners have approved a new rules of decorum for meetings.
