After a man dressed as the Lone Ranger made a speech at a recent Walker County Board of Commissioners meeting, in which racial slurs were used and broadcast live, the Commissioners have approved a new rules of decorum for meetings.
Walker County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to adopt rules of decorum for public speakers at their meetings. The new rule prohibits remarks which are vulgar, obscene or profane, including racial slurs and sexual innuendos. It also prohibits personal attacks on individuals or groups… and remarks that could potentially incite violence.
Anyone who violates the provision may be ruled out of order, forced to forfeit their remaining time and could be removed from the meeting.
