A fifty-nine-year-old Summerville man was arrested earlier this month after driving into a parked car in the lot of Pay-N-Tote in Summerville. According to Summerville Police, Stephen Duane Shaver ran into the other vehicle and then left the scene. He then drove to his residence on Congress Street. Police arrested Shaver and charged him with hit and run and leaving the scene of an accident. He was additionally charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Yesterday, Georgia Department of Corrections Director of Communications Joan Heath said Johnson State Prison received an anonymous call from someone who said they saw someone running toward a wooded area near the prison on Friday. The caller said it appeared they were running away from the facility.
