A small group protested in Canton on Sunday and called on Georgia to roll back its shelter-in-place order and reopen the economy.

Well over 1,000 Alabamians diagnosed with coronavirus have recovered – according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
Last week, the director of Northwest Georgia Public Health visited Roper in LaFayette. Dr. Gary Voccio said that the Roper Range plant has a “safe environment to work in.” The public health director made the visit after many have called for the plant to close during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Summerville Police were called to a Stevens Street address after a complainant called concerning damage to property. When the responding officer arrived, he spoke with the complainant who said that someone had taken a hammer and broke the driver’s side window on his vehicle. The subject had also allegedly used the hammer to cause a large dent in the hood of the vehicle. The complainant told the officer the name of the subject that was accused of doing the damage. The complainant said he wanted a report filed, but he did not want to press charges. He told the officer that he would “try to work it out” with the alleged offender.
Georgia gas prices continue to decrease at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $1.67 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 4 cents less than a week ago, 34 cents less than last month, and $1.01 cent less than this time last year.

Mr. Marshall Dale Buffington, Sr., age 75 of the Welcome Hill Community, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness.
Monday, Governor Brian Kemp held a press conference updating the public on the state’s response to COVID-19 and announcing plans to incrementally reopen sectors of the state’s economy.
The Governor stated that the shelter in place order will expire on April 30th. The public health emergency is set to expire May 13th.
