A fifty-three-year-old Rome man was arrested by the Floyd County Police Department at a location on Anderson Road on Monday after he conspired with others using a phone or the internet to sell controlled substances. According to Floyd County Jail Records, Julio Martinez-Guzman of a Rollingwood Drive address allegedly conspired with others to transport and sell over 28 grams of methamphetamine. Martinez-Guzman is being charged with the use of a communication facility in the commission of a felony involving a controlled substance, and a felony attempt to violate the Georgia controlled substance act.

A Hawkins Drive, Summerville man reported the theft of a jon-boat to Summerville Police late last week. According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, Benjamin Williams told police that someone came onto his property and stole the boat that was in his yard. Williams told police he had been fixing the boat up and that he had put JB Weld on the rivets and had sprayed the bottom of the boat with flex-seal. He was also able to give the boat’s registration number to police. (GA0263NJ). No possible suspects were identified in the report, and the incident was turned over to an investigator.

On Tuesday of this week Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call on Farmersville Road about an eighty-two-year-old man shooting a television set with a .38 pistol.
Despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of Chattooga County voters voted to send Herschel Walker to the U.S. Senate, the race between Walker and incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock is headed for a runoff election.
