The City of Summerville will be making changes to Broad Street coming up next week.
The Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia that serves residents in the area, including Chattooga County, is presenting the “Fall Rome Underground Tours”. The event is a fundraiser for the organization that helps victims of sexual assault in our area.
Signups for basketball at the Trion Recreation Department got underway last week and will continue through November 12th. The Trion Rec Department is offering basketball for children ages 7-8, 9-10 & 11-12. The age control date is September 1, 2022. There is a $25 registration fee for those who live outside the Trion Town Limits and free to those who live inside the town limits. Georgia gas prices continue to decline. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.15 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average is 5 cents less than a week ago, 3 cents less than a month ago, and 9 cents less than this time last year. It now costs $47.25 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Drivers are now paying almost $2.00 less to fill-up at the pump compared to a year ago.

An “armed and dangerous” gang member is being sought as the fourth suspect in a Walker County murder that took place in August of this year. Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson and the GBI are looking for Darious Devon Woods, age 26 of Chattanooga.
