Stolen Cell Phone Reported

A Summerville woman reported the theft of a cell phone on Tuesday of this week.  According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, Brittany Jones of a Sidney Street address called police after she noticed the phone was missing from her kitchen table. Ms. Jones told the officer that she had searched her residence and her vehicle for the missing Iphone 13, but was unable to find it.  She told police that she believed someone had stolen the phone and identified a possible male suspect that had been at her residence earlier in the day.  The incident was turned over to an investigator.

Trion Bulldogs Shutout Armuchee Indians

It was Senior Night for the Trion Bulldogs in Thursday night football action last night at Sam R. McCain Stadium.  The Trion Bulldogs defeated the Armuchee Indians 41-0.  The Bulldogs will be taking on Darlington next week.  Tonight, the Chattooga Indians will be facing off against Coosa in a game you can hear on WZQZ and you can watch the game live on our Facebook Page.  Kickoff is at 7:30 PM with the pre-game show at 7 PM.

Summerville Police Arrest Man For DUI

On Tuesday of this week, Summerville Police received a call about a possibly impaired driver.  A Summerville Police officer spotted the car and followed it until it turned in at George’s Kwik Stop off Highland Avenue.  When the officer approached the driver, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on the man.  When asked for his driver’s license, the man gave the officer a Georgia Identification Card because his license was suspended.  The driver told the officer that he had been arguing with his wife and his mother, and admitted to drinking earlier in the day.  Thirty-one-year-old Norberto Hernandez was arrested and charged with DUI and driving while license was suspended and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
