A group that is raising questions about Chattooga County’s Land Use Ordinance submitted several open records requests to Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry’s office regarding correspondence the commissioner had regarding the ordinance he signed earlier this year. That correspondence reveals that the commissioner was cautioned about adopting the ordinance without in-depth study and input from experts.

A thirty-one-year-old Summerville woman was taken to jail on Saturday after police say she was yelling outside her grandmother’s home. According to a report released on Monday, Kyla Tiara Johnson was causing a disturbance at her bedridden grandmother’s house. Police say that Johnson hit her uncle in the chest after he called 911. Johnson was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
Georgia gas prices continue to decline at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.18 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average was 7 cents less than a week ago, 29 cents less than a month ago, and 21 cents more than this time last year.
