The City of Menlo will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt coming up on Saturday, April 1st. Admission is free, and the hunt will be from 1 PM-3PM at Menlo City Park. There will also be snacks and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The hunt will be divided for age groups. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Chattooga County Concerned Citizen’s, the group of landowners that oppose Commissioner Blake Elsberry’s land ordinance, are working to get enough signatures on a petition to have the county’s land use ordinance put on a ballot for a vote by residents. The group has come up with a mail-in petition that can be printed off, signed and mailed back to the group.

Here is the latest arrest report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, March 9, 2023:
On Friday of last week a Chattooga County teenager was warned not to return to the Dollar Tree Parking lot, including the businesses close by, after he was found doing burnouts in the parking lot. A Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputy issued a trespass warning to nineteen-year-old Gary Scott Carroll and made him leave the premises. The next night, the deputy observed Carroll in the parking lot of the thrift store in the same vicinity of the Dollar Tree. According to the deputy’s report, Caroll was “standing around three pickup trucks, talking and laughing” for about fifteen minutes before the deputy approached him. Carroll was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail on charges of criminal trespass.
State Rep. Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee) has released his weekly legislative report for last week. Rep. Lumsden talks about the Mental Health Parity Act to reform Georgia’s mental health care delivery system. He says that this year’s bipartisan mental health bill will create a task force to improve the delivery of mental health care in the state, and expand treatment options. Also, the House is addressing veteran’s mental health with bipartisan legislation to create a Veterans Mental Health Services Program. State Senator Colton Moore was the only senator in Georgia to vote against a bill that would expand eligibility for the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program in Georgia to pregnant women.
A Missouri man was clocked doing 93 MPH in a 65 MPH speed zone on Highway 27 and claimed that he was a cop and the CIA was “after him”.
