A Missouri man was clocked doing 93 MPH in a 65 MPH speed zone on Highway 27 and claimed that he was a cop and the CIA was “after him”.

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office released on Tuesday of this week, on February 28th, a Chattooga County deputy was sitting near the intersection of Silver Hill Road and Highway 27 in the Gore area when he clocked a vehicle traveling at an excessive rate of speed.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop near Farmersville Road and spoke with the driver who claimed to be a police officer.  The deputy said that the driver was “talking out of his head” and called for backup from the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force.  The driver admitted to having a marijuana pipe in the vehicle.  Deputies and Drug Task Force Agents also found $11,000 in cash inside the vehicle.

Kenneth Earl NeSmith, Jr. was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of speeding, reckless driving and driving without a valid license.

But the story continues….when NeSmith was released from jail, he went to the towing company that had towed his vehicle after his arrest and demanded to know where his cell phone was.  The tow truck operator said that there was no cell phone.  A deputy was called to the scene, and NeSmith told the deputy he worked for the sheriff’s office in Branson, Missouri and for the Central Intelligence Agency.  The deputy advised NeSmith on some nearby motels where he could stay the night, but NeSmith got into his vehicle and drove off.

The deputy stopped NeSmith and re-arrested him, charging him for the second time in the same night, with driving without a valid license.

NeSmith was returned to the Chattooga County Jail.
