Man Tries To Pass Phony Money At LaFayette McDonald’s

LaFayette Police arrested a twenty-one-year-old man this week after he tried to pass a fake $100 off at McDonald’s.

WQCH in Lafayette reported: An employee refused to accept the bill, the man paid with a debit card and left on a bicycle.

Minutes later, Tony N. Parton was picked up and told police he had found the bill on the sidewalk. It was marked “copy” and “for motion picture purposes”.

Parton was charged with felony theft by deception.

Summerville Resident Makes Honor Roll At NGTC

North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) recently announced students named to the President’s List and Honor Roll for spring semester 2022. The President’s List recognizes full-time students with a 4.0 GPA. The Honor Roll recognizes full-time students with a 3.5 GPA. Full-time students are those taking at least 12 credit hours with no developmental courses.  Summerville resident Kailen Greer, studying Clinical Laboratory Technology was named to the college’s honor roll.

Damage To Vehicle In Dentist Office Parking Lot

A Rome woman who is an employee at Georgia Family Dental on Walnut Avenue in Summerville reported damage to her vehicle this week.  According to a report from the police department, the woman told a responding officer that a fellow employee had pointed out that someone had damaged the rear of her 2021 GMC Yukon while she was parked in the office parking lot during work hours.  According to the police report there was damage to the driver’s side rear of the vehicle where there were marks on the bumper and a taillight was damaged.
