A longtime Chattooga educator passed away at his home this week. Mr. Jack Herring was former principal at Chattooga High School from 1972-1988. He also served as an assistant principal at the high school and as assistant school superintendent of the Chattooga County School System.

Rome police arrested two individuals Justin Treyll Silmon, 31 of Rome, and Christian Lamont Tanner, 30 of Summerville, was arrested this week after a traffic stop at the intersection of Shorter Avenue and Division Street led officers to find an assortment of drugs.
Shortly before 3 AM on December 29th, a Chattooga County deputy clocked a vehicle speeding through Trion on Highway 27 near the Mountain View Intersection. The teenage driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
