Fifty-one Georgia State Senators, both Democratic and Republican, sent a letter this week to Georgia Secretary of State Mark Butler urging him to share his plans for reopening the network of 41 local labor department offices, called career centers, that have been closed since the pandemic began.
On Friday morning a crowd gathered at the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office for a ceremony to officially dedicate their new training center to the late Kristen Hearne. Additionally, the new “Wall of Honor” mural for the Kirsten Hearne Training Center was also unveiled as part of this year’s National Faith and Blue Weekend.
According to recent reports, scammers have begun spoofing the telephone number of the Georgia Board of Pharmacy.

When the Chattooga Indians traveled to Coosa High School on Friday evening, there were some who were concerned about how things would go after tensions ran high all last week at Coosa concerning alleged “racial incidents” at the school.
The Summerville Renaissance Festival has been scheduled for the first weekend in November.
The Summerville City Council will hold their regular monthly meeting coming up tomorrow evening at Summerville City Hall. Regular council meetings are held on the second Monday of each month and are open to the public.
