The Salvation Army of Rome’s Angel Tree Christmas program will be available this year for Chattooga County residents.  Applications will be take on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 9 AM until 3 PM at the Summerville Recreation Center located at 220 Highway 100 in Summerville.  You can find all the details below:

The Angel Tree program is available to families to supplement Christmas gifts for their children ages birth to 12 years.

You will have the opportunity to choose 4 toys for your child from a list or give your suggestions and give your child’s coat and shoe size. The items you choose are not guaranteed gifts for the child. We ask that gifts be below $50 each. We will not include bicycles for children on Angel Tree applications.

The Angel Tree program also is available for Seniors aged 65 & up. Senior applicants will be allowed to choose 3 items from a specific list or give your suggestions.

One food box will also be provided for each family or Senior. You will be notified at a later date of distribution day, time, and location. See requirements below:

• Registration on this day is for Chattooga residents
• Available for parents or guardians of children birth to 12 years of age
• Available for Seniors aged 65 & up
• Please bring the following documents on Wednesday, November 3
• Birth certificates or Medicaid card for all children in household
• Food stamp letter; SNAP letter; TANF document
• Proof of income for applicant
• Proof of residency (1st page of mortgage or lease showing address)
• Photo ID for applicant
• Failure to supply all needed documents by December 3 will result in being eliminated from the Angel Tree program after adequate attempts are made to contact you at the contact information that you provide.

Applications are taken in Chattooga County at this location only on Wednesday, November 3. If you miss this date, you may call our office to apply by phone or walk-in on Tuesdays and Thursdays only between October 5 and November 30 between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon and 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
