While donors across the country have rolled up a sleeve to give this summer, the need for blood remains crucial for patients relying on lifesaving transfusions. The American Red Cross continues to experience a severe blood shortage and donors of all blood types – especially type O – are urged to make an appointment to give now.
On Sunday night, a Chattooga County deputy noticed a white Dodge truck without a tail-light cover turning onto Highway 27 at the Mountain View Intersection. The deputy initiated a traffic stop that ended in a drug arrest for the driver.
The Chattooga County Democratic Party has not had in-person meetings since February 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The local party had planned to meet last month, but the meeting that was planned for outdoors, had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Chattooga County Democratic Party Chair Cynthia Hubler says that local Democrats plan to meet this month indoors at the Chattooga County Senior Center in Summerville. The Chattooga County Democratic Party will meet next Monday, July 19, at the Senior Center in Summerville. Hubler says, “The meeting will begin at 6 PM. All supporters are encouraged to attend to discuss upcoming projects. Light refreshments will be provided.”
A woman called the cops after going on a date with a man over the weekend, according to reports from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
Georgia gas prices increased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are paying an average price of $2.93 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 2 cents higher than a week ago, 2 cents higher than last month and 94 cents more than this time last year.
