Last week there was a lot of news about the Georgia Department of Labor reinstating the job search requirements for people claiming unemployment in Georgia, but there was another change in the rules you might have missed.
The Summerville Police Department says that two Summerville men were recently arrested on drug charges.
On July 1st, officers made contact with Tristan Rackley of Summerville and he was found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs and drug related objects – including methamphetamine and marijuana.
Then on July 5th, during a routine traffic stop, officers arrested Christopher Jeff Edwards and charged him with driving violations and several drug charges. Those charges included: abandonment of dangerous drugs/poisons controlled substances, possession of methamphetamine, poss. of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, fleeing and attempting to elude police officer, and obstruction of a police officer.
The Georgia Council for the Arts, a division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), announced the recipients of its Bridge, Project, and Arts Education grants as part of its initial disbursement of grants for fiscal year 2022. A total of 266 grants were awarded that will provide more than $2 million in funding towards arts initiatives throughout the state.
