Mr. Johnathan Dewayne Shropshire, Obit (M)

Mr. Johnathan Dewayne Shropshire, age 31, of Summerville, GA, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
Mr. Shropshire was born July 13, 1991, in Rome, GA, son of Lester Neil Shropshire and Hope Renee McGuire Shropshire.  He was a 2009 graduate of Chattooga High School.
Mr. Shropshire was preceded in death by a brother, Corey Thompson; grandparents, Paula and Houston Marks, Elizabeth and Maxwell Meadows, Jimmy and Lucille Shropshire, Billy McGuire, and Danny Timmons.
Survivors include his parents, Neil and Hope Shropshire; a brother, Jeffery Blackmon; grandmother, Linda McGuire; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 31, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Nixon officiating.
Mr. Shropshire will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.
Internment will be held at a later date at West Hill Cemetery.

Theft Reported On McGinnis Street In Summerville

A Summerville woman reported a theft on McGinnis Street to the Summerville Police Department on Wednesday of last week.  According to a report released this week by Summerville Police, Brenda Stoker told a responding officer that she had packed away several items in preparation to move away from the residence.  The complainant said that she had placed all of her jewelry and some old coins in a “zipper bag”.  Ms. Stoker had to be admitted to the hospital while she was preparing to move.  When she returned from the hospital, the zipper bag was missing.  The incident has been turned over to an investigator with the Summerville Police Department.
