The City of Summerville fireworks show sponsored in part by the Menlo Tillotson Grant and the Chattooga County Fair Council is scheduled to be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 following the Chattooga High School football game. The fireworks will not start until the football game has ended, with an anticipated start time of 10PM. There will be no other planned activities other than the fireworks show.

As emergency personnel were working an accident scene on Highway 273 early Tuesday in Leesburg, a motorcyclist refused to stop and ran the roadblock – almost striking a Leesburg firefighter in the process.

Georgia Power crews returned home after spending more than a week in Louisiana assisting with restoration after Hurricane Laura made landfall along the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
