A forty-six-year-old Floyd County woman was arrested at a location on Big Texas Valley Road by the Floyd County Police Department on Monday for stealing mail.

A twenty-six-year-old Summerville woman was arrested in DeKalb County, Alabama on drug charges, according to a press release from DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Weldon.
With the frigid temperatures ahead for this weekend, The Salvation Army of Rome will operate under its “white flag” policy. During the nights when the temperature drops to 32 degrees or lower, anyone may come inside at 7:00 pm to sleep on a cot with a blanket. They will be provided with breakfast the next morning and hot coffee before departing the property at 10:00 am. A hot dinner meal for anyone is served every night from 5-6 pm. The City of Summerville offices will close at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022, and reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, for the Christmas Holiday.
