Chattooga Library Opens To Public With Limited Hours

On Monday the Chattooga County Library in Summerville opened their doors to the public for the first time in several weeks due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The library had been offering curb side service and has encouraged people who needed internet service to use the internet from their parking lots, but the building itself was closed until this week. Library officials say that for now, the library in Summerville will open again this Friday, June 12th from 10 AM until 4 PM. There will be a limit of 25 people allowed in the library at any given time. The Trion Library remains closed. Also, the Chattooga County Library says that masks are suggested – but not required.

Jacksonville State University has announced that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19 and was in contact with three other employees.

Homeless Man Arrested For Threatening To Kill Woman

A homeless fifty-four-year-old Rome man, Floyd Blair, was arrested this week at the Redmond Regional Medical Center after he allegedly threatened to kill a fifty-five-year-old woman before acting violent toward numerous nurses. Reports said that Blair made an effort to hit the victim while using curse words around others at the hospital. Blair is charged with disorderly conduct and terroristic threats and acts.

Stone Mountain Man Arrested On Child-Sex Charges In Chattooga County

Chattooga County authorities arrested a thirty-four-year-old  Stone Mountain man on charges of arranging sex with a twelve-year-old girl.
