Georgia gas prices increased slightly at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $1.75 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 2 cents more than a week ago, 13 cents more than last month, and 84 cents less than this time last year.
Effective Tuesday, June 2, there will be several improvements to the COVID-19 Daily Status Report on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s (DPH) website. These changes are designed to make the dashboard more user-friendly while providing an accurate picture of COVID-19 in Georgia.
The Georgia General Assembly has been recessed since mid-March, but State Senator Jeff Mullis says that a date to resume the legislative session is expected to be announced soon. “While a formal date to resume the 2020 session has not yet been announced, we are confident that a final decision is imminent and our Senate officials are ready to get back to legislative work at the Georgia Capitol,” said Sen. Yesterday, Georgia Power announced that the typical residential customer using 1,000-kilowatt hours will receive an $11.29 credit on their June Georgia Power bill. This reflects implementation of a one-time $51.5 million credit for customers, approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC), as a result of Georgia Power’s 2018 financial results.
