There was an auto accident in front of the Centre Walmart around 8 AM Wednesday. It involved two pickup trucks and a passenger car.
According to reports, 49-year-old Summerville man Joseph Lewis Clark Jr was arrested in Rome this week after allegedly trying to cash fake checks around the city.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced Tuesday that Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing Inc. (which makes and sells radial tires for passenger vehicles and light trucks) will create over 150 jobs and invest north of $138 million in Cartersville. New jobs will include positions in production, support, and administration.

The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon on Tuesday, December 11th.

The National Park Service (NPS) says six local men have been convicted and fined in federal court on charges they engaged in poaching at or near the Lookout Mountain and Chickamauga Battlefield National Military Park. Three are from Tennessee, two are from Alabama and one is from Georgia – and a Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Technician.
U.S. consumers are being advised to not eat any romaine lettuce as the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention investigates an E. coli outbreak.
