Today, Wednesday, August 11th, is the first day of the school year in the Walker County and Chickamauga City School Systems. Many Walker County Schools will have a new start this year. School officials and law enforcement remind everyone that lives in or commutes in Walker County to be mindful of children at bus stops and to slow down to the posted speed limit in school zones.
