An alert Lafayette Police Officer made an arrest Saturday night – after he noticed that a man riding a bicycle had tool handles sticking out of his back pocket.

The officer stopped the suspect, and noticed that it appeared that he was dropping items on the ground next to the patrol car; a crescent wrench and an adjustable pipe wrench were in the man's pocket and on the ground the officer found a glass pipe and plastic baggies which contained methamphetamine and marijuana.

Richard Allen Brown, age 36, was taken into custody at the scene on drug charges.
