The Fourth Annual Northwest Georgia Balloon Festival is taking place this weekend. 

That’s May 13, 14, and 15 at Tillotson Field in Menlo.  Plan to come watch the balloons launch at 6 AM or 6 PM, weather permitting.  Try a tethered balloon ride for a new way to see the festival. Shop the vendors who will have everything from hand- made jewelry to cedar furniture.  Food vendors have the expected burgers and hot dogs and the unexpected fare of shrimp and grits, Greek food, Mongolian bar-b-q, along with fried Coke!

The full carnival offers kiddy rides and real screaming big boy rides. On Friday night you can rock away with Heart Cake Party and Tir Alseen at 5:30.  On Saturday night we turn country or hick-hop with the Lacs and "Kickin Up Mud".  These South Georgia boys will stir up the dust and a good time will be had by all.

Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for children 5 to 12 years old.  Those under 5 will be admitted free.
