A Summerville man was alerted to a theft in his shop via his barking dog.

On Christmas Eve Summerville City Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a theft on Jones St. The compliant, Mr. Allen Treadaway advised that his dog was raising an alarm and when he went out to check noticed that the door to his shop was open. An inspection revealed that an older air compressor, 3 small tables, and 2 tool boxes with roughly $300 worth of tools were missing. Mr. Treadaway stated that he doesn’t know anyone who would take the tools or knew that they were there.

Officers made a report of the theft and it is still under investigation.
