Some Summerville residents told Jason Espy of the Summerville News that they have seen evidence of a bear that may have been roaming around in their garden.  Shawn and Alicia Bowden took photos of bear tracks in a family member’s garden close to their home on Highway 114 in Summerville. Last month a small juvenile bear was struck in the early morning hours on Highway 27 in the Tidings Community in Chattooga County.  State biologist say that it is normal for juvenile bears to wander about this time of year looking for habitat.
